Planning Process Update

As a follow-up to the adoption of the Armourdale Area Master Plan on October 28, 2021, the Planning and Urban Design Department has since cataloged all the implementation actions and service deliveries completed as a part of the planning process, including:

• Hiring five (5) local Armourdale residents to support outreach efforts across the community.
• Leading a park clean-up at Shawnee Park for Earth Day 2021 with over 50 community and UG volunteers.
• Installing an air quality monitoring sensor in collaboration with Clean Air Now at the Armourdale Community Center.
• Conducting a “vehicle blitz” that resulted in the removal of over 30 illegally parked junk cars.
• Directing a traffic enforcement effort that issued over 100 citations at two problem intersections identified by residents.
• Regrading approximately 2 miles of alleyways that local children identified as their preferred pathways to their neighborhood parks.
• Currently finalizing a streetlight replacement effort with BPU.
